Fazenda Buriti's Story
Marco Antonio da Silva has only been in the coffee business since 2017 when he purchased Buritis Farms after working in the tire business. Since then he has committed 100% to making his coffees some of the best in Minas Gerais, Brazil with a focus on sustainability and innovative new processing methods, you will taste the difference.
"This coffee is not a typical flavor profile from Brazil. It is something unique and special," comments our Director of Coffee, Jake Leonti that was recently in Brazil cupping coffee with Marco. You will find notes of cherry, grape, orange peel milk chocolate with a creamy finish.
About the Grower:
"Since 2017, our journey in coffee began with the acquisition of Santo Inácio and Buritis farms, located in a privileged region at 1,080m altitude, ideal for high-quality coffees. We started the certification process for the farms, prioritizing sustainable management and respect for the environment. In 2021, we expanded our operations with Buriti and Arcos farms, adjacent to Santo Inácio. We have received awards for our quality, such as 3rd place for the best fermented coffee and 2nd place for natural coffee in our cooperative. We have invested in sustainability, with water reservoirs supplied by rainwater collection, a photovoltaic plant for self-sufficient energy, and the "Attitude Nursery" project in partnership with our cooperative for environmental preservation. We contribute to the community with donations of school kits and train our employees to ensure quality at all stages, from crop management to grain processing. Our commitment is to continue evolving and consolidating our presence in the specialty coffee market, offering a high-quality product resulting from our love and passion for what we do."
